Exploration Manager
As Exploration Manager, Stuart is responsible for all field exploration activities, as well as the resource evaluation and determination.

Stuart has been engaged in mineral exploration in Australia and overseas for more than 20 years. Prior to taking up the position as Exploration Manager with the Australian Premium Iron Joint Venture, he held the position of Exploration Manager with Portman Mining Limited managing a team of exploration geologists exploring for iron ore in the Yilgarn and Kimberley regions of Western Australia. During his time at Portman, Stuart oversaw the significant increase in the resource and reserve position underpinning the expansion of operations at Portman’s Koolyanobbing project.

Prior to joining Portman, Stuart worked for 14 years with Aurora Gold holding various positions within Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. He held the position of Exploration Manager in Indonesia for four years prior to spending a similar time in Papua New Guinea in the role of Regional Manager. Stuart’s responsibilities included the completion of the Bankable Feasibility Study for the Morobe Gold Project in PNG.

Whilst working in Indonesia, Stuart managed a large exploration team leading to the discovery of the 2 million ounce Toka Tindung gold deposit in North Sulawesi.

Prior to this Stuart worked in Australia in varying roles exploring for iron ore, nickel, gold and diamonds.
