Head of Country for South Africa - Johannesburg/Pretoria


Aquila is seeking an experienced executive, to be based in Johannesburg/Pretoria, capable of leading exploration, development and eventually production teams as Aquila advances its iron ore and manganese opportunities in South Africa. The successful applicant will have relevant experience at a corporate level, with particular experience in dealing with the South African Mining Charter, other relevant legislation and other stakeholders.
This key executive will represent Aquila in South Africa and be responsible for developing Aquila’s business and maintaining Aquila’s reputation as a good corporate citizen within the South African context.

Business Development Manager - Perth


Aquila’s substantial portfolio of coal, iron ore and other minerals projects provides an opportunity for a creative thinker to develop and execute strategies to leverage Aquila’s position within the growth regions of the Bowen Basin in Queensland and the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The successful candidate will be capable of identifying opportunities, initiating contacts and ultimately, negotiating agreements with those parties and reporting to the Executive Chairman.
Based in Perth, the Business Development Manager will be required to travel as necessary in respect of Aquila’s Australian project portfolio.

Senior Exploration Geologists x 2 - Brisbane


Two senior geologists are required to assist the Manager Exploration in the demands of managing a large portfolio of coal tenements.  The Senior Exploration Geologists will assist the Exploration Manager in developing strategies to develop viable coal targets and assist in testing these targets through exploration. Based in Brisbane, but with a component of field travel, they will oversee and plan safe coal exploration activities within strict budgets and assist with the preparation of JORC compliant resource statements. They will prepare work scopes for exploration programmes and oversee a range of contractors.
There will be a requirement to review and input data, create and assess geological models and prepare reports to assist with EPC requirements.

Database Geologist - Brisbane


Aquila is expanding its focus on Coal in Queensland with an aim to increase its commitment to supplying quality coal for export.  The Database Geologist will assist in the development of plans, using Minex software and GIS sources, to compliment reports on the Company’s coal exploration tenements.
The Database Geologist will assist the Systems & Approvals Manager with EIS Studies & Cultural Obligations, as well as assisting the Exploration Manager with coal exploration activities including the establishment and maintenance of an architecture for GIS information storage, the input of data and creation and assessment of geological models and information systems and the preparation of drawings and graphics for exploration and reporting purposes.
Based in Brisbane, but with a component of field travel, this role will also be responsible for the maintenance of data bases and computing equipment, and assistance with the preparation of reports for all of Aquila’s EPC and project requirements.
