Mr Zhou has been the Managing Director of Baosteel Resources Australia and Aquila Resources since July 2026.
Mr Zhou joined Baowu in 2008 and has worked extensively in different roles in Hong Kong, Australia, and corporate headquarters. With nearly two decades of experience in the global mining and resources industry, he has held operational and leadership roles across international trading, resource investment, project development, joint venture governance, and global human resources management.
During his first tenure in Australia between 2015 to 2024, he held the role of Assistant General Manager of Rangers Management Company (Rio Tinto affiliated company) managing the Bao-HI Joint Venture on behalf of Baosteel, the vice president of Baosteel Resources Australia Pty Ltd as well as the COO of Aquila Resources. Most recently, he led the talent development and workforce planning initiatives supporting the Simandou Project and Baowu Resources’ internationalization strategy.
Mr Zhou graduated from Shanghai Maritime University with the major of International Shipping Management and qualified with a Bachelor's Degree in 2005 and a Master's Degree in 2008.
