Mr Zhang is currently the General Manager of International Development Department of Baowu Resources.
He joined Baowu in 1995 and was a member of the Iron Ore Mine JV Project team of Baosteel Group between 2001 to 2002 and Administrative Superintendent of Mineral Management Department in Baosteel Resources (International) Co., Ltd between 2002 and 2003.
Mr Zhang was also formerly the Assistant General Manager in Australia of Rangers Management Company (Rio Tinto affiliated company) managing the Bao-HI Joint Venture on behalf of Baosteel, Business Development Manager of Baosteel Resources Australia Pty Ltd between 2003 and 2009 and General Manager Public Relations at Baosteel Resources (International) Co., Ltd between 2015 and 2019. He was the MD of of Baosteel Resources Australia from 2019 to July 2026 and the MD of Aquila Resources from November 2021 to July 2026.
Mr Zhang graduated from Material and Metallurgic Engineering Development at Chongqing University and qualified with a Bachelor's Degree in 1992 and a Master's Degree in 1995.
